Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate field technicians, drivers, and support staff when operating in the shop. 
• Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently. 
• Assist in developing and implementing goals, objectives, and policies for the repair, refurb, and rental divisions. 
• Oversee the scheduling and completion of vehicle maintenance and repair. 
• Monitor and control repair facility activities.  
• Perform mechanical duties and inspections as needed. 
• Develop and implement safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. 
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, such as DOT and OSHA. 
• Coordinate and schedule trips, drivers, and routes for timely delivery. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with drivers or trucks. 
• Prepare reports on fleet activities, maintenance, and costs.
• Standardize, draft, and implement shop control measures to ensure the repeatable, efficient processes as they relate to inter-shop activities. 

Competencies and skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and field staff. 
• Must be comfortable using computers, phones, and other office equipment. 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain detailed records, and stay organized is crucial for coordinating operations effectively. 
• Must be able to think critically and solve problems quickly, especially under pressure. 
• This role requires the ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and tracking systems.
