Key Responsibilities

The Ecommerce Site Manager will be responsible for the measurement and optimization of the website search experience; including site search rules, suggestive search, search sequencing, facet management, product features and content placement.  A deep knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of eCommerce as well as product management tools, search tools and personalization tools to build out the online experience is critical.  The ideal candidate has experience in a business consumer driven eCommerce environment, thorough understanding of the relationship between the customer experience and on-site metrics, and the ability to drive improvements and results.  This position sits within our Product Management team and works collaboratively with Marketing, Web and Product Operations teams. 
• Increase search conversion rate by optimizing site search experience and removing obstacles that prevent customers from finding the products they want
• Identify, develop and execute strategies and A/B testing plans to improve on-site search conversion in US and CA divisions
• Build robust search rules based on company’s rules combined with third-party tool algorithm; constantly tweak algorithm to yield relevant results
• Assess the type-ahead search results and product grid search results to ensure relevance in products and content
• Evaluate customer usability of shopping facets and analyze for improvements and consistency with browse category experience
• Create synonyms and/or redirects for “no search results” terms or for terms that are misspelled
• Responsible for running and optimizing product recommendations within site search experience in line with the digital merchandising and category strategy
• Analyze the performance and behavior of customers regarding the use of the site's search
• Establish site search KPI’s and communicate performance compared to company targets
• Collaborate within Digital Merchandising team to align site search and browse strategies for key business priorities and seasonal events
• Partner cross-functionally to understand business priorities: new products, inventory, brand activation, seasonality
• Provide recommendations related to site improvements including features, functionality and capabilities to enhance the customer experience for improved conversion and revenue growth
• Use analytical expertise to synthesize inputs from various data sources to uncover insights, make recommendations, and inform test hypotheses
• Research industry and consumer-focused trends and provide competitive analysis to identify opportunities
• Solid understanding of current consumer expectations, emerging consumer and digital retail trends, and emerging technologies
• Troubleshoot issues in the site search funnel, including product facets, navigation within results, relevancy

Competencies and skills

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 5 years of experience; including site merchandising and e-commerce expertise (business KPIs, customer journey, site search, CRO).  Performance marketing experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of search fundamentals (broad match, exact match, etc)
• Experience running A/B or multivariate tests
• Fluency with Google Analytics, Quantum Analytics, Power BI, eCommerce tools (search, recommendations, product management, etc)
• Assertive, adaptable and able to demonstrate initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Strong analytical and communication skills.  Ability to make data-driven recommendations to improve web experience
• Strong customer obsession focused on building the right site experience
• Self-motivated, resourceful with a creative mindset
• Solid interpersonal and relationship management skills & ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Experience managing and developing a small team
