Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze COVID-19 quantitative data based on the CV-19 Smartsheet database
  • Administer employee benefit programs to include medical, dental, and insurance plans; disability programs; and 401(k) plans.
  • Provide Executive Summary reporting on healthcare claims cost, as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with local and regional regulatory agencies including the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Develop employee statistical and census data for health advisory firm, actuaries, insurance carriers, and management.
  • Review and audit data related to benefit plan enrollment and benefits department projects, including the calculation of annual benefits pay amounts, flexible account contributions, adjustment of service dates, etc. 
  • Introduce approved new plans and changes by preparing announcement material, booklets, and other media for communicating to employees.
  • Lead new benefit project discovery, implementation and “go-live” projects.
  • Participation in ongoing Health and Welfare plan-related projects, as assigned.
  • Other projects, as needed.

Competencies and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 7+ years’ experience in compensation and benefits administration including substantial knowledge of compensation, health, welfare, and 401(k) plans.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Sec. 125, etc.) required.
  • Excellent PC skills required in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are imperative for this role.
  • Must also demonstrate a sense of urgency; provide excellent interpersonal and customer service skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Be deadline driven and able to prioritize multiple tasks, and organize, analyze and interpret data.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll software and third-party software; such as SAP, Benefit focus, and various health and welfare plan carriers
