Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

•    Responsible for providing job hazard analysis (JHA) for work efforts and conducts safety, facility systems, and material handling fleet operations inspections.
•    Responsible for day-to-day proactive and reactive work efforts on:
•    Facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and related assets
•    Conveyor daily system start up and operation
•    Material handling fleet daily operational checks to include batteries and related battery charging systems
•    Distribution Center racking systems
•    General maintenance items throughout the facility
•    Oversees and manages contract services as required for the Distribution Center.
•    Assists with planning, scheduling and coordinating work activities with maintenance, repair and minor renovation projects.
•    Maintains records and updates asset information within local Enterprise Asset Management System
•    Performs related duties as assigned.

Competencies and skills

Qualifications: 


•    3 to 5-years of facilities maintenance experience and working knowledge of warehouse / distribution related equipment and systems to include material handling fleet operations, conveyor system operations, and racking systems.
•    Certifications in a skilled trade from a vocational / technical school or work towards an Associate degree infacility management, engineering related field is a plus and can also serve in lieu of one year of facilities maintenance experience.
•    Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills,
Knowledge of:
•    General principal knowledge of and ability to effect repairs on building electrical (480V/ 3 Ph), mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing systems.
•    Electrical experience to include trouble shooting and changing breakers up to 400-amps, routine maintenance or replacement of 480/277 light fixtures, variable frequency drives and motors, and working knowledge of building switchgear, transformers, and motor control / power distribution panels
•    Experience with emergency power supply systems to include generators and basic operation, automatic transfer systems, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems
•    Basic building operational HVAC knowledge and refrigeration principles
•    Basic low voltage fire or burglar alarm system operations and troubleshooting of applicable systems
•    Commercial plumbing systems to include domestic and sanitary piping, sewage waste tank ejection systems, gas and electric commercial grade water heaters, and installation of restroom equipment
•    Roofing and door systems to include dock door systems and components
•    Experience in conveyor systems (carton) maintenance and repair including:
•    Basic understanding of PLC logic
•    Understanding zero pressure accumulation systems controls
•    Ability to perform proactive maintenance requirements, motor replacement, chain and sprocket adjustments or replacement, and belt lacing and tracking
•    An understanding of carton diverters and in-line weight scales
•    Abilities to include diagnosing mechanical and electrical conveyor issues and executing appropriate repairs
•    General knowledge of material handling fleet operations and battery maintenance
•    Perform building inspections and minor general maintenance activities including painting, and office furniture assembly.
•    Manage outside 3rd party contractors and vendors including janitorial, snow removal, generator maintenance, landscaping, fire sprinkler, etc.
•    Methods and techniques of inspecting maintenance and repair work to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
•    Occupational hazards and related safety precautions.
•    Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications related to the work.
