Key Responsibilities

• Co-leads and supports daily/weekly 3PL and internal transportation operations relating to freight planning, routing and execution for 5 U.S. distribution centers and drop ship locations.
• Provides freight quoting for the department (Parcel, LTL and FTL) and rate validation and support leveraging ERP and external transportation systems to support Sales teams and other key stakeholders.
• Owns the weekly freight bill dispute and reconciliation process by validating billing terms for inbound/outbound stock and vendor shipments; tracks total amounts in dispute and freight bill cost avoidance post-validation.
• Acts as key project planner for carrier and/or vendor implementations for the transportation department.
• Researches vendor, carrier and warehouse shipping issues and leads root case analysis and resolution across all stakeholders; monitor and measures improvement plans and adjusts logistical actions as needed.
• Participates in carrier RFP’s and conducts in-depth pricing analysis and leads internal freight cost reviews for pre-award.
• Executes as SME for parcel and LTL analytics and partners with Transportation Analytics Manager on freight reporting and weekly/monthly dashboard creation.
• Leads Parcel and LTL freight billing integration and auditing projects with external vendors and works to ensure timely stakeholder project integration and data accuracy for reporting purposes.  
• Acts as point of contact with Logistics Manager for shipping issues and freight resolution for customer facing and supply chain teams.
• Conducts parcel and LTL root cause analytics for continuous improvement initiatives as needed to support cross-functional cost and service goals for customers and supply chain teams.  • Flexes between tactical and strategic project support to meet emerging needs, projects and optimize freight planning initiatives.

Competencies and skills

 

  • 8-10+ years of Logistics/Transportation Operations in parcel and less-than-truckload management
  • Strong background in Freight Analytics, FP&A and Freight Accruals and Reporting
  • Strong understanding of LTL tariffs, czarlite pricing and freight classing procedures
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Strong ERP/TMS software shipping module knowledge
  • Strong oral, written and analytical skills
  • Specialized knowledge of the freight industry and shipping modes
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and teaching skills
  • Carrier and vendor relationship management skills
